Welcome!

Bismillah.
Think I'm gonna start with my first and oldest known words of Rumi-

"Come, come, whoever you are.
Wanderer, worshipper, lover of leaving — it doesn't matter,
Ours is not a caravan of despair.
Come, even if you have broken your vow a hundred times,
Come, come again, come."

I like this bit because of its strong hopeful nature, and the hint that it gives out freshness, a kind of "starting over." Starting over of Life, Deen, Emaan ...you name it. Well, it might also be thought as me inviting to my blog the wanderers, worshipers and the lovers of leaving :P

So without much ado, As salaam alaikum- Peace and Blessings of Allah be upon you- to whoever is reading my blog.
My name is Zahra and you might have seen me lurking around the blogosphere for a while now (not with the same name though.) I closed my previous blog and started a new one cuz, well, this is, Inshallah a new chapter of my life, and I wanted to start it afresh. Plus, I really needed a new url :P

I realized it was time for a new direction in and purpose of life and decided to pursue studies in Islam in the well-known Hawza of Qom, Iran. (More of the hows and whys later Inshallah.) I realize there aren't many (or any) Muslimah blogs which recount the day to day experiences of studying Religion in a far away place. So, if you ever wanted to know, now you can as I will know them myself, Inshallah.

I am Inshallah scheduled to leave for Iran soon and thought it fitting that I start writing this before I fly. You know how every story has a background to it. This may or may not be that background. Uh, okay so if you know about my previous blog, then you know me moderately well, and if not, you can know me all over again, or for the very first time. Yea... that didn't sound as cool as I thought. Anywho, so keep an eye out for my posts y'all!

Okay, enough for now. You can write to me at girl.awesome.chador@gmail.com

Au revoir for now :)

  1. assalamu alaikum,
    i am sunni,you are shia.
    but no worries...
instead of quoting prophet muhammad (s a s)'s sayings, why you people give importance to one of his sahaba's?..( imam ali radiyallahu anhu)..

    Hadeeth :
Avoiding places where a person feels he will be exposed to the temptation of looking, if he can manage to avoid them, such as going to marketplaces or malls, and sitting idle in the street. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: “Beware of sitting in the street.” They said, “We have no alternative; that is where we sit and talk.” He said, “If you insist on sitting there, then give the street its rights.” They said, “What are the rights of the street?” He said, “Lowering the gaze and refraining from causing offence…” (Al-Bukhari and Muslim)

  2. Great to know you're still going to be active in bloggerworld!

@above, quoting somebody else other than the Prophet (s) doesn't mean you admire them more than the Prophet, especially when that person is somebody the Prophet (s) has told us to love and obey and learn from.

  3. I think I have finally arrived. LOL my first comment is an awesome one :P

    As salam Anonymous-
No, shias do not give ANYBODY more importance than RasulAllah (S). I don't know how quoting hadeeth by Imam Ali ibn Abi Talib (a.s) (who was far from being just a "companion" of RasulAllah) would give you that impression. In any case, this is a new blog as you can see and i did mean to enter ahadith from our beloved Prophet (S) Its just a matter of time and I was looking out for something truly amazing.

JazakAllah for the hadith. And Inshallah www.al-islam.org sometime soon dear brother/sister :)
