First snow

I woke up almost an hour and half before class to the chatter and giggles of my room mates. Too early. As i lifted my fuzzy head up to know what the fuss was all about, and peeked outside the window, i realized. Holy crow! It's snowing!! I was out of my bed in less than a second and ran toward my sweater and scarf to get outside in the hayaat. And... it was amaaaaazingggg! The white cottony fluffs of snow, delicate soft and gentle, bristled across my face and hands. Just the first sight of snow from my window was so breath taking. Pretty looking white little things, falling off the sky, harmoniously taking its place on the ground, and the tree tops, and the ferns, and the flowers.

Of course, when we got to the university, everybody's mood was as bright and vibrant as mine. Playful chatter again coloured the already beautiful surroundings, marking the abrupt start of yet another season. In class, we had a hard time paying attention to our ostad (professor). All our heads were invariably titled towards the side of the window, waiting for the bell to ring and so that we could escape to the snow. We were out under the sky the moment the bell sounded. There, it was picture time! In the afternoon, in the still snowing cold weather, me and a friend ventured out to the mall near our university to look for decent winter wear (which i desperately need). Unfortunately i didn't find any. The shops weren't ready for the abrupt start of the snow either. I did buy a stylish poncho sort of loose monto under which i can wear heaps of mismatched clothing for the time and still look awesome ;-) When we got back to the khwabgah at maghrib time, the snow had got quite instense. It formed this sticky trecherous slush which lined the roads. It had then, gotten really really cold. It was a relief to be inside our warm heated room. As amazing as the snow is, at times the cold really feels like a painful attack which has gotten through your body! Like a thousand needles pricking your body. (but thats usually when ur not adequately clothed for the cold.)
All in all, it was my first snow, and i loved it, through and through! :-) A BIG, FAT, ALHAMDULILLAH! :-D Till then, Iltemase dua, salaamat boshe! :-)
