Eid brownies and Eid outfit!

Salaam Alaikum :)

Hopefully, your Eid day went well! Mine did, alhamdulillah. I was thinking today of my last Eid spent in Iran. It was so different.
Last year on Eid, I woke up late, hence didn't get to attend the congregational Eid prayers at the haram of Hazrate Masoomeh (s.a.) That was kind of a damper given that I was spending Eid away from home and family, and it had been only approximately a month since I'd got to Iran and was only starting to adjust to things.
As i'd woken up late, I refused to attend the congregational Eid prayers without taking my ritual bath, putting on my Eid clothes, getting pretty, etc (which i would have had to cancel if I planned on leaving with the others in 10 minutes.) In my own time, I got dressed for my prayers. I was the only one in my room and amazingly valued the opportunity. I thoroughly enjoyed reading Du'a Nudba (arguably my FAVORITE du'a) and contemplating over it. Praying in solitude has always been my thing so I wasn't grumpy about having missed the congregational prayers.

The rest of the day just passed by. It wasn't too special. But if on next Eid I am in Iran, I am sure to go out with my friends and have some fun. It would just involve a short walk to a nearby ice-cream shop, actually. And of course, a visit to the most special place in Qom- the Haram (if I haven't already visited for Eid prayers, that is.) And then maybe make some of my chocolate brownies I made today. Yay!

So, here is what I wore today for Eid. I paired it with dark jeans and a really pretty cream and light blue chiffon scarf with pearl hangings- a gift from a friend. Oh, and a nice necklace.

And here are the chocolate brownies I made for the first time. They turned out real good. Unfortunately, I can't find it's recipe. But I do recommend this website for good Indian cuisine. It's that of a TV show from which I learnt how to make the brownies!

Khudahafez!
Do remember us in your prayers :)

question: how do shiite Muslims celebrate Eid different from Sunni Muslims or Muslims who follow the Sunnah of the beloved Messenger Muhammad SallAllahu 'alaihi wa sallam?

more info about me if you're interested to know more about one another:

  2. Yes those are brownies.
I already answered your question in my last post and had even linked you there.
For the record, Shi'a muslims only follow the sunnah of the Messenger of Allah (S). It's funny you categorically excluded only the Shias on following the Sunnah of the Messenger (S).
Sister, please don't be a victim of lies and propoganda against the Shias. Inshallah, see the truth for yourself.
    Peace.
